25 - 29 - Designing Designers Exhibition - Opening Night of the 150th Anniversary of the School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design - The Gallery, Level 4, Architecture Building

The School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design at The University of Adelaide is pleased to announce the exhibition, ˜Designing Designers: The Evolution of an Architect". The exhibition is currently open to the public as a part of the Fringe Festival Visual Arts program

The exhibition showcases student work from 1958 until the present and feature snapshots of their professional designs.

6 - The first of the “50th Anniversary Lecture Series” will be held at the Forum Theatre, level 5, Architecture Building, on March the 6th at 6pm with a double bill:

Dr. Robert D. Brown of the University of Guelph, Canada will hold a Lecture on: URBAN MICROCLIMATES: FROM ROAN-JI TEMPLE TO THE NEW YORK TOWERS

Dr Makoto Yokohari of the University of Tokyo, Japan will hold a Lecture on: CONTEMPORARY URBAN AGRICULTURE: TOKYO

11-13 - Visiting Professor Mr Hijjas Kasturi to visit the School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design

12 - The second of the “50th Anniversary Lecture Series” will be held at the Forum Theatre, level 5, Architecture Building, on March the 12th at 5:30pm:

Mr Hijjas Kasturi of Kasturi Architects (pdf 715kB), Malaysia, will hold a lecture on:
the work of his international practice, Kasturi Architects, Malaysia.

17 - To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the School of Architecture, the University of Adelaide School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture & Urban Design invite you to ... CAKE OFF (pdf 1MB)!

Bring your entry to the CAKE OFF Celebration, at 6.30pm, Monday 17th March, 2008
Join us for drinks and nibbles while the jury deliberates, after which the prizes will be awarded. Be sure to read the registration and rules  (pdf 41kB).

17 - Visit by the Vice Chancellor

1 - A seminar on the Built Environment as part of "Climate 2030 seminar series" of the Research Institute for Climate Change will be held from 5 - 7 pm on Tuesday 1 April in the Napier Building room G04, University of Adelaide:

Associate Professor Veronica Soebarto will convene a session which will consider the role of ethics, regulations and research in achieving sustainable design in the build environment.

The results of the Cake Off competition for the 50th Anniversary of the School are in! It was a great success with contributions from staff, students and the community. Thankyou to all who contributed.

25 - SONA - submissions for Terra 4 due. Be published in an international journal! SONA is seeking the best student architectures from Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. SONA is accepting submissions across three categories - design, photography and writing.
If you are interested please read the entry requirements and send your work or ask for more details from Ron Keller or Kimberley Hubber
