The Dean W. Berry Prize in Architecture

Whereas the Architects Board of South Australia has agreed to provide an annual prize to commemorate the service to the community of Mr Dean W. Berry who was Chairman of the Board for twenty-seven years, the following rules are hereby made:

  1. The prize shall be known as "The Dean W. Berry Prize in Architecture".
  2. The value of the prize shall be $250.
  3. The prize shall be awarded annually by the School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design to the student in the Bachelor of Architecture program or the 'architecture stream' of the Bachelor of Architecture/Bachelor of Landscape Architecture program who has, in the year of the award, obtained the highest marks in the practice course Architecture Practice II or Architecture/Landscape Architecture Practice II.

    No award shall be made if, in the opinion of the School, no student is of sufficient merit.

  4. If in any year, two or more candidates are equally ranked, the Head of School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design shall seek advice from the Architects Board of South Australia before determining the award of the prize.
  5. These rules may be varied by the Univeristy from time to time, but the title and general purpose of the prize shall not be changed.
