International Studies Scholarship

Whereas the School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design has agreed to provide a scholarship or scholarships to assist students within the School to undertake an official International Exchange as part of their program, the following rules are hereby made:

  1. The scholarship shall be known as "The International Studies Scholarship".
  2. The value of the scholarship shall be $750.
  3. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to an undergraduate student enrolled in the School who has been accepted to undertake an official International Exchange at an approved overseas tertiary institution as part of their program.
  4. The scholarship will be awarded to a candidate who has demonstrated a high level of academic performance in their program.
  5. A candidate for the scholarship must apply in writing to the Head of School and may be required to attend an interview as part of the selection process.
  6. The interview panel for selection purposes will comprise the Head of School (Convener), Associate Dean (Academic) (or nominee) and one member of the academic staff of the School.
  7. Two scholarships may be available each year; one to be awarded in Semester I and one to be awarded in Semester II. Should a scholarship be not awarded in Semester I it may be available for award in Semester II provided that there are candidates of sufficient merit.
  8. Payment of the Scholarship shall be made after approval by the Head of School of the study plan proposed by the student and following the student's official enrolment and payment of appropriate fees as an Exchange Student.
  9. No candidate may receive more than one scholarship.
  10. No award shall be made under the above rules if no candidate is considered by the School to be of sufficient merit.
