The Hijjas Kasturi Landscape Architecture Prize


Whereas Mr Hijjas Kasturi, has agreed to provide for an annual prize of $2,500 to the final year student studying for the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture in the School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Adelaide, the following rules are hereby made:

  1. There shall be an annual prize called “The Hijjas Kasturi Landscape Architecture Prize” for the next five (5) years, commencing in 2007.
  2. The prize shall be $2,500 per annum, unless otherwise determined by the School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design in consultation with Mr Hijjas Kasturi.
  3. The prize shall be awarded annually to the final year student studying full time Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. This evaluation will be based on the cumulative marks achieved in core courses through the professional degree (two years of the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture)
  4. The Selection Panel should comprise at least two (2) School of Architecture, Land-scape Architecture and Urban Design academic staff members, with their recommendation to be endorsed by the Executive Dean, Faculty of The Professions.
  5. If in any particular year, the Selection Panel deems that two or more candidates are of equal merit, the prize shall be divided equally amongst them.
  6. No student is eligible to count toward the Prize award core courses in the named degree which have already been accredited towards another degree.
  7. These rules may be varied by agreement between the University and Mr Hijjas Kasturi but the title and general purpose of the Prize shall not be changed.
